The first step for building the data
warehouse system is the data extraction
from the various data sources that may be
residing in diverse systems. Such loading
of this data is carried out in the Data
Staging Area.
Data Staging Area
In this area the data is cleaned i.e.
check for the errors like duplication or
any other constraints in the raw data.
This data is then brought in the
standardized form as required for the data
warehouse. In this step the users are
prevented for querying the operational
data tables.
Data Presentation Area
The cooked data from the Data Staging Area
is then loaded on to the Data presentation
area and can be now accessed by the users
for their AD HOC requirements and also for
the various analytical applications.
Environments
These applications are deployed on the Web
server so that they can be viewed by the
users on the Internet or Intranet
environment.
